What is a SnowPixie?

A “SnowPixie” is a tiny baby elf from the North Pole. They magically arrive in the Peppermint Woods each year on Christmas in July.  On July 25th, during the first minute after the clock strikes twelve, the twinkling light of the North Star shines upon the falling snowflakes and they are magically changed into wee baby elves, who drift gently down onto a soft blanket of snow.  With the help of the SnugBunnies, the elves gather up the babies, wrapping them in cuddly blankets and taking them to the North Pole Nursery.  Each one is given a name by Santa and a birth certificate.  If you would like to see a short video about this, Click Here.

Is this a baby for the other elf that sits on a shelf? (yes, we get asked this alot!)

No!  The SnowPixies are the other Christmas elf tradition that is positive, interactive and delightfully simple.  Santa is looking for human families as helpers to baby elf sit these little SnowPixies during the busy weeks before Christmas and show them the special ways your family celebrates Christmas.

How can SnowPixies be used as a Christmas elf tradition?

With a SnowPixie, you don’t have to invent Christmas magic, you experience it and share it with a baby elf that is anxious to see how you celebrate the season.  Picture a curious little baby elf peeking from its crib, ready to discover how your family celebrates…

On Christmas Eve you simply put the SnowPixie in its crib and place it under the Christmas tree for the Nanny Elf to safely return to the North Pole where the baby will start attending the School of Elf Etiquette.

When is a good time to start with a SnowPixie?

Again, this SnowPixies are stress free, so bring out the SnowPixie any time that is convenient for you.  We find most families prefer to introduce the baby elf on the weekend after Thanksgiving to maximize the time of the SnowPixie visit in your home, but it is entirely up to you.  Two things to consider when starting the visit from your SnowPixie: first, sending a letter to Santa to volunteer as a baby elf sitter is a fun way to build some excitement before the arrival.  Second, keep in mind that the baby must return to the North Pole on Christmas Eve so it can attend the North Pole School of Elf Etiquette soon after.

Can my child touch the elf?

Don’t worry, SnowPixie magic doesn’t disappear if the baby elf is touched.  But we suggest it be minimized to help children understand that the SnowPixie is not a toy.  It is a tiny guest in your home sent to see the things that matter to your family at Christmas—and, of course, every baby elf needs to stay safe and snug!

However, the beauty of the SnowPixies is their sturdy handcrafted wooden crib that makes them mobile and interactive, allowing you to take them anywhere you go to see what you like to do during the holiday season.

How long does it take to receive my SnowPixie?

We will ship your SnowPixie as quickly as possible, typically on the same day as your order but no more than 2-4 business days after. Delivery times may vary depending on your location, so please order early to ensure it arrives in time to enjoy for the holiday season!

What is the Baby Elf Sitters Club?

The Baby Elf Sitters Club is a membership program that keeps the SnowPixies magic going year-round. Scattered throughout the year, members receive a BESC certificate, a letter from the Nanny Elf, a school class picture, a copy of your SnowPixie's report card from the North Pole School of Elf Etiquette, and exclusive holiday items like a Christmas tree ornament and Countdown to Christmas calendar.

What is included in a SnowPixies Care Package?

Each SnowPixies Care Package includes everything you need to baby elf sit: a girl or boy SnowPixie (you can choose the name and personality), an illustrated storybook, handcrafted crib, a personality card,  birth certificate, baby blanket, baby bottle (for syrup, of course!), and a toy bunny. It's a complete experience to bring memorable holiday magic to your family.  We also have care packages for SnowPixie twins which include a boy and girl SnowPixie with a unique double decker crib.

What should I do if the baby or its accessories gets lost or damaged?

If the baby is damaged (i.e. becomes a chew toy for your dog…), or the bottle or bunny get lost, the can be replaced without buying an entire Care Package.  Replacement packages can be found in the SnowPixies Shop.
